How to get involved
For Young People
Help us to make an important change in society by working with the Reach Project.
Not only will you be taking a stand against homophobia and cyber-bullying, but in the process you’ll be given the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities: short film-making, animation, script-writing, photography, drama, art, creative writing and music making.
The sessions are all run by professionals and it won’t cost you a thing.
If you’re aged 16-21 and would like more information please contact Reach on 0117 946 7607, or email reach@eachaction.org.uk and if you’re under 16 and keen to get involved, speak to your teacher, youth worker, parent/carer or phone us. We’ll explain how you too can participate.
For teachers and youth workers
Policy guidance from the Department for Education expects schools to take a strong stand against prejudice-based bullying, including homophobia. Ofsted will be focusing more strongly on aspects of safety and behaviour which include bullying.
How can schools and other youth settings get involved?
Young people across the West of England have already participated in a range of activities that have both given them the opportunity to explore the wider issues of prejudiced based bullying and helped develop material, which we hope will contribute to resources we are ultimately creating for schools and other agencies (see our Reach News for more details).
Do get in touch to learn more about the programme – whether you’re a young person or know a young person who would be keen to help challenge cyberhomophobia and homophobic bullying.
